During NA 282, Adam said he was trying to find this movie on Netflix but it wasn’t available! Maybe it was pulled because it is ‘too close to home!’

During NA #278, Adam described how he recently watched the excellent documentary, Ground Truth as well as meeting the films producer.
The Ground Truth is about post traumatic stress disorder and the struggles our military personnel experience as they try to reintegrate into civilian lives. Adam said that the more he hears about stories like Ft. Hood – he’s thinks our troops our screwed, “You hear their stories and you want to hang yourself! Our military is in deep, deep psychological trouble”.

According to Adam, “Inside Job – it’s what No Agenda has been telling me for over three years!” Adam further said that this great flick that has hit the torrent networks but we want to support this guy. Hopefully he’ll use Kickstarter for his next film project!
This film gives a fantastic overview of the current financial crisis that happened in 2008 resulting in lost fortunes, and thousands of people to lose their homes. Of course, Goldman Sachs came out pretty rosy…

A fantastic video documentary that covers our obsession with fame and its exponential growth. Our obsession was 12% in the 80s now, it’s around 80%! Adam said he’d post a link to the torrent, but it hasn’t appeared yet.
A must watch and covers many memes covered in No Agenda such as, how much news is just reprinted press releases and how media is used as a distraction. Also covered is how the money that was spent on Live Aid actually did more harm than good which is very similar to what John and Adam have been saying about aid for the Haitian earthquake victims.

John Dvorak’s DVR was busy this week recording a national security wonkfest (Spook Groupies!) from CSPAN. During this meeting, a question from a reporter from Executive Intelligence Review concerning the massive flow of drugs out of the British zone of Afghanistan and General Jones speech concerning fighting drugs, international crime and the “sophisticated interface with international business” Â was brushed off abruptly by the moderator. This brought up a mention of American Gangster by Dvorak which he described as more of a documentary than a fiction piece. This film chronicles the story of Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), a real-life Harlem crime lord who built an empire on Southeast Asian heroin in the 1970s.

Adam took John’s recommendation and watched Paris 1919 on the Military Channel. At the end of Word War I, world leaders gathered in Paris to shape the peace and the world. Adam summed up that it was all about money and land as parts of the globe was carved up.
Dvorak also recommend the Military Channel’s series on WW I.

It’s been awhile, but in NA 240, Dvorak mentioned an interesting movie to go check out! He brought up the kitschy 1974 film, Zardoz, starring Sean Connery. Described as a film that would be much more enjoyable on LSD! Dvorak pointed out that it’s full of naked chicks and lots of tits (natural)! John D. erroneously stated that it came out at the end of 1979 when everyone was stoned (it actually came out five years earlier). Dvorak exclaimed it was a great “end of an era” movie and “a piece of crap that is compelling!” Adam said he’ll stick to his zombies though…

Movie Description:
Liz Gilbert had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having — a husband, a house, a successful career — yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali.

While Adam was discussing his high water bill at the Hilltop Watchtower Crackpot Command Center (Hollywood Hills), Dvorak mentioned that it’s all part of a scam and you should watch Chinatown, which is about the deceptive politics of water in California. This then led to a mention of the film’s director, Roman Polanski and the documentary about his legal problems.

A Dvorak pick – can’t believe Adam hasn’t seen this. John said it was controversial because it came out close to 9/11 – but I think he was referring to the Oklahoma City bombing.
